Leg cramps/pain

My DS, who is awaiting the results of his genetic test (scored a 51 and 57 on his sweat test) so we are in diagnosis limbo right now, has leg cramps frequently. He eats a lot of bananas, but he occaisionally gets these cramps and he woke up last night with one. Is this common for CF kids? The dr. just told us to make sure he gets enough water and eats foods like bananas, but I was just wondering if this could be because of CF.
Of course now I am paranoid, but lately my DS just does not look well, he is so thin, has constant bags under his eyes and he has started with a wet cough. I know it is cold season, but when you have a child who just had a borderline test for CF and now has a wet cough, I can't help but worry!

My daughter has not complained of leg cramps; but I would also make sure you child gets enough salt in his diet. Did they do any other blood work, like electolytes to see what his sodium level and potassium level is? Kids with CF need more salt than kids without CF; maybe giving him a salty snack or some gatorade to see if it helps with the leg cramps. How old is you son? I hope you find out soon about whether it is a definative diagnosis of CF. The sooner your son starts the treatments specific for CF kids (if it is CF )the better he should feel. Keep us updated on his results!

I just wanted to mention that at your child's age, those pains may be simply growing pains. It seems that all of my boys went through those. It could be related to some deficiency too, but wanted to point out the simple, because sometimes when things are crazy, you overlook the regular stuff. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
