Good to remind people to be aler to this.

My late husband got terrible tendonitis. Once his Achilles tendon "blew" while he was sleeping.</end quote></div>

Yes....serious problems with the Achilles tendon is a side effect and I am sure not many of us are aware of that. I would have certainly liked to have been more informed. I think docs are usually so concerned about targeting the bugs that side effects are an after-thought and not discussed to the extent that they should be.

Ahhhh! If only I never took Levaquin. I took it three years ago for two weeks. I had terrible terrible insomnia while taking it. I had NEVER had insomnia before. And I don't know how possible this is, but I blame that levaquin for my sleep problems today. Something "changed" or was re-wired during that round and I've never been the same with respect to sleep. I wish I never took it.

I also had the very bad joint aches while taking the medication. I couldn't turn door handles, hold a hair brush, open windows etc. It was very painful. It did go away about a month after i discontinued the medication. Yuck, yuck, yuck! I will never take levaquin again.

I could barely walk across a room when I took Levaquin and have refused it ever since!

Hmmm-I am on it right now and I must not be sleeping good because I am SO tired all of the time! I am on it for 3 weeks this time, and have one more week to go. I haven't noticed it bugging my joints/tendons this time, although I have in the past. Although I would rather take it than try a new med-because I have had serious allergic reaction to 2 meds and am really afraid to try new stuff.
