Life Insurance

this is not a subject that i want to post but does anyone know where my son can get life insurance coverage and yes he has CF and is 18

I've succesfully gotten it through an employer before but have been denied since I stopped working and just tried to apply for it on my own. I think there have been a few discussions on this in the past so if you search the forums for "life insurance" you should find some older discussion threads that may be useful!

I've got it through an employer now. The paperwork says it is convertible if I ever leave the company, but I'm not sure if that will include a health questionnaire or not. I also have a $30k policy that is $25 a month (not a great rate when compared to healthy people but for me it works). I lucked into this because of my Dad's planning. It is a universal life policy that he took out on me when I was a kid (kind of like the Gerber Life Grow up plan), then when I turned 18 it converted to me without needing a health history.

I never was able to. If he is employed through a large agency, then during his initial first weeks if he signs up typically there is no medical questions for $50K. Then when they offer increasing with no medical questions he can continue to increase it. I work for a school district.

Grange Insurance has a graded life policy for members (so you would have to get car insurance or something with them, but it's worth it). It's 50k graded for 3 years. If you die before the policy matures at 3 years then you just get back your premiums you've paid. After 3 years, it's 50k. I think it's about $42 per month, no medical exam, no pre-existing condition clause. This is not accidental death and dismemberment, this is a full life insurance policy. It's the only one I've found under 150 per month.
