Does the pain ever radiate, especially to your left side, down your arm, into your jaw? Those are classic signs of a heart attack. If it's a quick stabbing pain, it could be angina, and that could be caused by stress. If it is a throbbing pain all across your chest, you could have just stepped off a treadmill after throwing down in a jogging session that would make any CF'er proud, and any normal person wonder what the heck you're so happy about...

I get those pains as well, where I can't take a deep breath for a few seconds or I get a spasm and it makes me jump. I also have no idea why that happens? I do have medialshift of my heart due to the right lung colasped and never quite made a comeback, so I am thinking maybe it is that? I also take Tums immediately and it seems to help Pat-56/CF-MAC/IBS/Gasoparesis/Acid relux way to many things for sure.

Hi, no they don't radiate down my left arm. That's the first thing I though of <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I usually get stabbing pains right before an *attack* (my lungs acting up) I was just curious if anyone else experienced this.

I also get the random, sudden stabbing pains, but they're all around as other people said. My pulmonary doctor gave me a couple of things he thought my cause them but really wasn't sure. Basically he just ended up telling me what things to watch for in case it was a serious problem.

Now, my fevers are definitely worse when I'm tired or stressed. Is it possible you could find a way to get some extra rest for a day or two? I don't like to admit it, but sometimes that makes a major difference for me.
