liver problems

Hi! never been here before and not sure how to do this. I have a 9 year old who has cf and is about to undergo a liver biopsy and enocopy because of liver "fibrosis". Has anyone hear of this or had this. Please give me any insight you can. Thank you so much. Very worried mother.

Liver problems are very common w/ CF. When I was 10, I started seeing a liver specialist b/c I had some sirrosis on my liver. The ducts in the liver can be cloged with mucus just like in other places. I was put on Actagol, also known as Ursadoil, I think that's how you spell it. It thins the bile in the liver. I was on it for a few years and had liver function tests every six months. Now I only do them once a year and things have been normal. Debbie22 yr old w/ CF
