Longest IV course

Hi,
What is the longest anyone has been on IV's at one clip? I have never been on them for more than a month. But, I have been on them for 2 wks now, and I have caught another bug - so they want me on them for another 2 wks. I am kind of concerned that if I don't bounce back after that extra 2 wks, then I am out of options. I have never been on IV meds for more than 4 wks.

i was on iv meds for almost 2 months about 2 years ago..... lets just say one doc was a idiot and i went to another and got it fixed!!!!

I was on IVs for a grand total of 79 days last summer.....was going for a world record there I think <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

I had a 6 month course! The bacteria I had was very hard to treat and required a 6-12 month course of IVs. Not fun.

I had been on 2 months (2 weeks in the hospital, 6 weeks at home) then a week break & another 8 weeks (3 in the hospital & 5 weeks at home). I guess technically you could consider it all one shot. My doctor wanted me to stay on for another week & I just broke downed & cried that I couldnt do it anymore. I had had enough. Things were back in acceptable limits, but she wanted that last extra boost. She didnt get it! Its the first time that I have outright refused something. I am pretty good about listening & agreeing, but I just couldnt take anymore. I had a rough few months & jut wanted some normality.

I was on IV antibiotics for 3 weeks back in march, and then another week of just staying home... it sucked.. but at least after 5 days in the hospital they sent me home for the rest of the time yay!... kinda..

The longest my two boys were on for was 5 months, when they were first diagnosed. They have also had a few couple of months treatments.

Just over a month for me 2 weeks while I was pregnant with my daughter and then continued after she was born for two weeks. It was a continuous thing. My picc was never pulled until she was two weeks old.

I believe 2 months was the longest, been on them about every other month though ranging between 2-3 weeks. So we will see. Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Agreed on the going nuts after 3 1/2 yrs of IV meds. I have a hard time with 2 weeks I get stir crazy not being able to do everything I usually can. The longest I can recall being on IVs is 2 1/2 weeks. Usually it is about 2 solid weeks.
