Lung Transplant

Hello Everyone
We are from Ohio and on July 11, Columbus Childrens Hospital performed their first lung transplant, actually a double transplant for a 21 year old woman that works for the statehouse. I think that this is exciting and I hope that everyone will keep Emily in their thoughts and prayers during this exciting and scarey time in her life.

Thanks

My prayers are with everyone. Do you know how she decided to be the first transplant recipient at this hospital? I would want them to have a few others under their belts before working on me. At least I think that now, but maybe when confronted with the decision it wouldnt seem so cut & dry.

I agree with you although i am not the CFer my daughter is and i feel the same way, she was diagnosed when she was 10 years of age and i beleive she received her lungs from a 50 year old woman whose lungs and blood type matched Emily's.
