Magnesium

Magnesium can really help against cramps/spasms in muscles.
It's a standard drug the first months to a year post tx. I was on 2x1000mg at first and am still on 2x500mg now. It is more standard to have already stopped it but I am still on it. When I lowered it my doctor asked me next time I saw him how I felt, if I was having cramps. But that's all ok, so we leave it at this.

Here is just one of the many websites on the synergistic role of magnesium and calcium:

I had not heard that you are not suppose to take them together. Does anyone else know anything about that? I have been taking them at the same time.

When I was looking at magnesium supplements, I was told that it was better to take a magnesium supplement that had calcium in it, but I don't remember why or where it was. I'll look around, and let you know if I find it .

AnD, Uli had written that you should not take the two together; but, I have heard the same thing that you heard. You should take calcium with magnesium. I will ask my doc today.
