The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama.
Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the
Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of
his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice
law in Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

America the Beautiful, or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters, abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly, poisoned by cocaine
Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges; who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face and mend our evil way,

Then God will hear from Heaven, and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful, if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.

I'll give you babies piled in dumpsters... though that occurrence is far more rare than it seems (given the media coverage). And the longer abortions are allowed, the less babies you'll find in dumpsters, methinks.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> children wander aimlessly, poisoned by cocaine

Did I miss the one where your god said blow was a no-no? Mind you, not that I think it should be passed out at school and work... but my point here simply is... everyone interprets the bible to their likings. Which makes it less than a reliable source for decision-making.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray</end quote></div>
Obviously you know my views on this. We don't need any god's love or prayers in order to be good people. Religious people seem to think they have the monopoly on morals. And quite frankly, some of the most moral people I know are atheists and agnostics.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,

I'm not going to argue that a lot of sh*tty judges exist (though I guarantee we would disagree on which ones)... but again, you don't need any god to use reason and be fair.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,

This isn't even worth the argument because pro lifers are never going to make pro choicers change their mind... And on that note, I hate those terms. You know pro lifers are not ANTI choice... and pro choicers are not ANTI life. Stupid.

Again... <b>You don't need to be religious to be a good person.</b> Period. And anyone who argues that simple statement (the one sentence in bold) will be quite lacking in logic and reason.

Thank you, Robert. for posting this. It is a good poem and well written by a brave and moral man.

I agree, you don't need to be religious to be a good person. On the other hand, a lot of "good people" think that will get them into Heaven. Only a personal relationship with Jesus makes the difference.

Thank you for posting this robert. It is so sad and so true....

Em, I think that the "babies in dupmsters" thing is being used to include the babies who are being aborted. You are right, finding babies in dumpsters nowdays is much less common since there are "safe houses" for people to drop off babies and abortions available. I'm PRO-Choice, but I am also a Christian and believe in God, this doesn't sit well with a lot of other christians but I am in NO place to judge someone else for their decision.

I agee with you too Em, you don't have to be a christian to be a good person. I know many who aren't religous who are good people. It's just that the christians believe that our faith and belief in God is what will open the doors to heaven.
