mauve mucous??

So, I coughed up some mauve (dark pink) mucous on Friday and I'm wondering if anyone else coughs up that color? I know that indicates the presence of blood, but I'm really not sure why. I have been feeling pretty good. I didn't cough really hard or anything. It actually happened twice. Once, while I was doing my Xopenex (but no vest) and then again later after I did some canoeing on the Wii Resort game. Neither time did I cough really hard or anything. Pink would mean relatively fresh blood, right? Do I need more Vit K? Does that just happen to others sometimes for no reason?

I have started bleeding many times when I am feeling pretty good. For me it always means inflammation or infections its never just 'ok' for me.

I'd get checked out before you get stranded in a bad spot over the holidays if something is brewing.

Emily coughs up pink mucus sometimes. It's considered her 'norm' when she is sick; her drs are aware of it. Sometimes it's streaked pink, other times it's a more uniform pink color (which seems to be what you are describing here.)

I would be concerned if I saw it when she was healthy since that would not be her typical thing. I think any time you start seeing something new it's good to call about it- esp like Nicole said when you know there is a holiday coming when it will be very hard to get in touch with your dr.
