Meds that make you SOB

Erin,

I don't like xopenex either--I seem to get a headache and more cough with it. I'll take albuterol and a few (thankfully) shakes any day.

Lynda,

I take Advair 500/50 once daily I am supposed to take it twice daily but the night time one no matter if I do an albuterol before it I get wheezy and short.

Dr wants me to go on TOBI on the months that I do not due the AZLI study drug. I don't know if this is a good idea or a bad one. I haven't tried TOBI for over 3 years but the last time it made me so short that my sats dropped to 88% for a complete hour before going back to 92% my normal sats on just room air.

I can not do colistilin (sp?) due to sob and wheezing. I do pulmozyme only on days that I need it. I bleed from pulmozyme if used every day. HS makes me sob bad and wheeze I did it in the DR's office during clinic and I had everyone thinking I was going to cough myself to death it was bad. So no HS for me every again...

I think those are the only meds so far that make me sob and wheezy.

Hope you are doing well.... Miss your e mails...

Hugs,
Melissa

Somehow I am just seeing the add'l responses. I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in feeling SOB and making the decision to discontinue use of meds because of this fact.
I was starting to think that somehow I should "suck it up" (no pun intended) and push thru the SOB.

Thanks again, and I'll work on those emails/messages, Melissa

I just had to discontinue TOBI. I had been getting along well since my Dec. tune-up, then noticed I was wheezing and crackling again. The only thing different was doing the TOBI. I stopped it and within 24 hours the wheezing and crackles had disappeared. The Dr. looked at me kind of funny when I told her this but we are going to try Colistin next.
