My daughter has tried megace a few times. It did help her gain about 3-4 pounds each time. But she was only able to keep on about 2 pounds after a month or so. Still a nice weight gain. The dr did not want to use it anymore because of the side effects. What has really helped my daughter is the feeding tube. Up from -5%bmi two years ago to 80% today.
