Hi Julie-
Sorry I haven't been able to respond to your e-mail! Thank you so much for thinking about me! I have been having trouble with my yahoo email(I can receive and read e-mail but I can not respond or write new e-mail) I just haven't had the time to bring my computer in to get fixed!!!!!!
I received a denial letter on Dec. 20. I am going to appeal. I have a DR.s visit on Jan.18 and will be speaking to my social worker then about appealing. She did call Beth Sufain my last visit before I applied and Beth said to apply and if I get denied we will appeal. Thank YOU for all your HELP!!!! Your charts came in handy!!!!! I used them as my guide. If I am on TOBI for over a year doesn't that qualify me?????? OH WELL!!! I guess nothing in life is easy.........
Hope you and Mark are getting adjusted to your new home. I know that moving is very hard. We moved a year and a half ago and still have plenty of boxes in the garage to be unpacked Have a very HAPPY and HEALTHY 2006 !!!!!!! You are a wonderful person and I really appreciate your help!!!!- Carrie

Carrie, no problem, I am so glad to hear from you! if and when you get access to your email, if you want to tell me what specifically the denial letter says, I might be able to give you some additional pointers. Some denial letters are very vague and some list some details that leave you scratching your head! If you wanted to post it on here, I could take a look too but if not, I understand.

If you have been on tobi for the last year (is it on one month, off the next, on one month, off then next? Or every month, or just when your cultures show bacterial growth?) you most certainly DO meet impairment listing 3.04 C. You must have Persistent pulmonary infection accompanied by superimposed, recurrent, symptomatic episodes of increased bacterial infection occurring at least once every 6 months and requiring intravenous or nebulization antimicrobial therapy. Basically, this is stating you have to have a lung infection (check) and you have to be taking Tobi, colistin (nebulized) or an IV anitibiotic for the lung infection. It sounds like this is a yes for you, therefore, if you present it to them like this, they will have no way of denying it.

Pretty much all the boxes are unpacked, now it's just a matter of figuring out where to put everything. Thanks for the well wishes and hope your new year is wonderful too. Feel free to try to 'catch' me on this site if you continue to have email problems!
