There really are a lot of germs in school- your boys will probably bring you home plenty on their own, and if you can afford to not work at the school, you could excercise (or whatever else you need to do for you- soak in the tub with a good book, for instance, or do an extra therapy if you are run down, or even just take a nap ) those 3 days a week while they are in school .

My MIL and my mom each keep my daughter for a couple of hours, one day a week (Monday and Wednesday mornings) while I go and swim (I am working on convincing myself that this in not torturous excercise time, but "me" time- for the last 3 years, lol) and then I usually take her swimming with me on Fridays (guess which day I am the most tired afterwards ).

I hope you get it figured out soon before you get run down- it really does sound like you have a lot on your plate!

Hi there!

I totally know what you mean about feeling like you're being spread too thin. Although, a lot of times I put this pressure on myself!

I'm the one with CF, I am pregnant, I have a 14-month-old boy, I am in school for my masters, AND I work full time. Not sure how I have time for all that stuff in my life, but I make it work somehow. I was the one who decided to go back to school, and luckily I can take some time off once the baby comes.

There are days when I wish a had more "me" time to recharge the batteries. Some days I just need a nap and I can't because I have my little boy, but I do my best. I can't wait to be able to take my aromatherapy bubble baths again! Sometimes I wish I had more time to read my pregnancy books/magazines because I don't want to miss anything during this pregnany. I wish I had more time to dedicate to exercising too; although, my son keeps me busy chasing him outside and I use that as my exercise. But I am happiest when I'm busy, so life is good for me right now.

Maybe you could talk with your husband and ask him for some help with house chores so that you have more time to exercise and take care of yourself (when he's not working). It's so hard to keep up when you have kids and you want to be at all their functions, etc. Of course that's one of the most important and fun things to do Would you be able to cut down a day during the week at work? Is there something else you could do that wouldn't be around kids that could get you sick? If you really love it (which I think you do), just make sure you carry around hand sanitizer and watch out for the sick kids! With summer around the corner, hopefully there won't be much sickness floating around. Do you have family that could take the kids for a short period of time during the week so you can exercise? Or what about doing some sort of activity with them?

I know that when I start not feeling good, I instantly blame it on the fact that I'm too busy. And it's most likely true. If the time comes where I'm getting too run down by my lifestyle, then I will have to start cutting things out.

You have to do what's right for you. Talk to your husband if it will help. I hope you can find the right balance for yourself and your family.

Good luck and take care

I used to volunteer a lot at my daughters school. After getting colds in Sept/Oct/Nov of her kindergarten year, I decided that I had better not be in there passing around germy utensils/supplies. I then made copies for teachers and helped behind the scenes for a couple of years and then just fazed out completely.

It was hard, because I loved to be around all the kids, but I also had to consider the risk to my health...

Good luck with what you decide.

It's been hard for me too and I'm just realizing how important "me" time is. Once or twice a week DH takes Amelia for a stroller walk so I can relax or get stuff done. Yesterday I did a relaxation yoga DVD. It's not much but it does help and it's exercise too.
What I'm also starting to do is work exercise into family time on the weekends. We went to a park, DH brought his bike and I walked/jogged using the jogging stroller. Heh I'm even thinking about clothes I can wear that I can stop and exercise in whenever I have the time yet still look half put together. It's just impossible to get enough alone time to exercise the way I normally would (change, go to a gym, etc) so now it's just got to be in small spurts throughout the day.
Take care, I hope you find some ways to modify your schedule. If you can stop working it probably would be better for germ avoidance. I did stop working 6 months before Amelia was born.
