I have to ask what kind of tv she is watching... my cousin was really into the Baby Einstein stuff and it really helped her as far as when she went to preschool and stuff. So maybe pop one of those suckers in instead of Dora or Little Bear (I love me some Little Bear! haha).

Otherwise I have no experience to help out with.

Good question..! She watches Sesame Street. Its pretty much the most educational thing on tv. I grew up on it and I try to watch everything first before she does. (movies, etc.)
She is going through this princess thing right now, so I am trying to keep the Disney movies to a minimum. They are great, but not really giving anything to a 3 yr old.
We are getting out of that phase now-its hard bc I loved those movies when I was little, but she's too young.

She also watches Brainy baby dvds-which is like baby einstein but for older kids.

As far as letting her in the room with me, thats really not possible. She's gotten better at not pulling tubes and stuff, but she just wants me to hold her. When I do pt, I don't just sit on the vest and breathe-I really huff and spit and move. So I can't do a quality treatment with her on my lap, I've found.

Maybe I'll start trying to let her roam the house during my 2nd treatment and see how she does. Try training her to sit quietly and let me do my thing.
That way I'll at least get my GOOD a.m. uninterrupted treatment.

When she was real little I went through the 'getting up 5 times to attend to her' thing...Its just no way to get a quality treatment.

I have to say that I have def "trained" my daughter (just like I have with anything), she knows its mommies time to feel better and she has to self entertain. She is pretty independent though. We too do the pretend neb sometimes too.

Do you maybe have a nieghbor that could take her. When school it out my neighbor said she would take her each morning (we do alot of kid swapping so we can get things done). So like she will take her in the mornings and Ill take the kids in the afternoon so that she can have her own time. Its works great.

My daughter, Morgan, is 9 months old- crawling and into everything, but not old enough to be entertained by a TV yet- so it gets a little tricky.

Her daddy goes to work before she is up for the day, so he's not home to help in the mornings. When her sister (my husband's 4 year old, a joint custody situation) is home, she does a great job of keeping Morgan entertained.

Some things I do: I give her an empty nebulizer cup and tube to play with and chew on (as others have mentioned), I sometimes neb while I'm on the treadmill so I'll stick her in a Moby wrap and we walk together (which she loves!), I sometimes sit on the floor and play with her while I do treatments, and I usually wait until she is in bed for the night to vest.

I think things will get easier as she gets older, but for now I just try to be creative!

I agree with Christine! Better some t.v. time and a healthy Mom than a sick Mom that cannot care for them!

My daughter are 4.5 and 2. At this point they do not mess with the tubing or vest. I may have to stop to get them a snack or drink but I try to take care of all that and set up a project for them to do while I take treatments. For the most part I try to get up before them to do my treatments and do my second round once they are in bed. When I have to up treatments (sick) I do more when my 2 year old takes her nap. The 4 year old watches t.v. or colors, reads or does puzzles. She is really good at entertainig herself so it is not an issue.

Now we have a 4 month old puppy....that makes for exciting treatments times! He does not really mess with tubes but always seems to get into something so I have a little race with myself to see how fast I have disconnect and race to pry his little mouth open! Actaully, he is crate trained so he typically goes in his crate while I do treatments.
