More Predisone....

I have been on various doses of Prednisone since January. I think each body probably processes it a little differently.

I have found that for me taking it in the morning w/ breakfast (I try for before 8) leads to it hitting around 3 in the afternoon and that "high" so to speak lasts till about 10 or 11. Then I can usually get 4 or 5 hrs of sleep.

I have lived on Prednisone and steorids for about 10 years. I have addison's disease so my body does not produce the natural cortisol that your body is supposed to.

Your body normally secrets cortisol which is a form of steroids about 4 am and then again early afternoon.

I take my steroids 20-40 mgs in the early morning and then my afternoon dose by 1 pm. That goes best with my natural body schedule.

When I am on prednisone in addition which is very often.. I take it all in the morning with food. Prednisone does not kick in for about 4-6 hours after you take it so taking it early evening is worse.

I like the idea of taking it at late night, and for those who do, you are right that you will have help waking up in the morning.

I do think though you have to take it how your doctor prescribes it.
