Mould

As difficult as these decisions can be sometimes I would have to say that the benefits far out way potential hazzards here. Mould spores are extremely small and even the best droplet precaution mask will not guarantee your safety. Mould can host a variety of very nasty things they could potentially harm you long term, not just aspergilus, but many others - cepacia can come from mould though maybe not mouldy books, I'm not sure exactly. I would do anything to not have cultured aspergilus as for me it has caused far more issues than pseudo or staph. At the end of the day I would be asking myself if the person potentially going to be offended if you decline is going to be there to nurse you back to health if you get sick?! These decisions are always tough but sometimes you have to think of yourself first.

Mold is bad for everybody, and it's even worse if you have a breathing condition (ie, Asthma, or CF). I actually managed to have my entire math class moved one year in high school, because the room was so moldy that I always became congested in there. Luckily I wasn't alone with regards to my symptoms as a result of the mold, but because of my pre-existing condition, I was considered more of a priority regarding health issues. The class liked the move too, because we finally had windows :p

Hey Lost Miler,,
I see what you are saying. I believe, but am not 100% sure, that you can have an allergic response to aspergillus in the environment. The problem is, the allergic response is far more dangerous with aspergillus that has made its way to your lungs.

Thanks for all your advice. I already grow aspergillus i found out on my last visit to the hospital so i know it won't do me any good being around that stuff.

My boss is pretty good so i think i'll ask to pass that one on. Its just a bit awkward but as you all point out my health is more important.
