MRSA, Staph and Breastmilk

Great information...I often wondered if my son cultured staph as an infant simply from breastfeeding before cultures (it being on my skin). We have had 2 clear cultures since he has weaned (though 1 or 2 have still shown low levels of staph). Interesting.

So glad you are receiving good information and support to continue breastfeeding your son. I was going to offer you a bunch of articles to pass to your doctor on why it should continue. But thankfully your doctor has done his research (many do not mind you) and sees the big picture.

It is so cool that we actually make and pass along specific antibodies through our milk for all kinds of viruses and bacterias we are exposed to -- it is designed to protect our infants and build their immune system. Human breastmilk is very dynamic and amazingly protective. MAMMA MILK RULES!
