MRSA

Avery has a pretty large bump (1 inch atleast) on the back of her head/scalp that is pink/redish in color. She says it is tender to the touch.

Since she has cultured MRSA for over a year now, I wonder if the two are related?

I should also mention that her papaw (who keeps her every day) also has a few of these bumps on his head righ now. Which makes me wonder if it isn't something else...

So, I was wondering if any of you with MRSA have experienced similar bumps on your scalp?

Thanks.
Any info would help.

Interesting...I do know that MRSA can manifest itself as a boil on the skin...I suppose it would be safe to venture that the two could be related...

I totally believe they are related. When I get the boil type acne under my skin on my face its usually when I have missed a dose of my Bactrim for MRSA.
r
I also had my husband take some Bactrim (yes I self medicated him) when he had a terrible breakout on his face & nothing was working. I thought it was some type of staph & it cleared up almost immediately when taking the Bactrim.

Well, my dads doc told him his knots/bumps (he has five or six) are shingles.

Our after hours nurses (I spoke to two different ones) both said thatthe cause being shingles is not likely for my dad or Avery.

We are going to the doc tomorrow to have it looked at. I will let you know.

Thanks,
Lynsey
