Mucoid vs. Non Mucoid

In reference to what you said about MRSA not going away... almost all pseudomonases are like that (mucoid or non). They can't really get kicked out, just sort of get kicked back into the corner.

And it's basically what folione said. Mucoid has a biofilm that makes it harder to get at via antibiotics (abx). It basically protects itself more carefully (thus, making it more difficult) than non-mucoid does.

It's raining outside. Think of the rain drops as abx. The non-mucoid is someone out in the rain, no protection. The mucoid is someone out in the rain with a rain coat and a big umbrella. Not quite that simple, but that's the idea.

As for the pictures, here's the link to that thread:

that is correct per my doc but reading up on it i haven't seen that in a child her age but she did go untreated for 4 years so who knows---i think i might ask for a retest if that's possible. thank's for the responses....i have a really hard time researching things on the internet & actually understanding because its sooo much--i wish it could just come in lamons terms some times.
