mucolyxir

Just to give an update on the mucolyxir...I really think this stuff is working. I feel great and I can't believe how thin my phlegm is. My pft's had started to go down since I stopped Pulmozyme, but I can't inhale that anymore because it causes bleeding for me. I think the mucolyxir does the same thing...maybe even better. Maybe I am getting falsely excited, but I do know that I would be extremely upset if they took it away from me. I have pfts on Friday...we'll see if they have changed at all. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I am very interested in heraing how your pfts go. Not just the results themselves, but would like to know if you "feel" it to be easier on your body etc.

If you've only been doing mucolyxer for a week or two, I wouldn't worry so much about the pft's. I hope they are up, but it might be a little soon, don't you think? I certainly hope there on the way up though!

jfarel,

Thanks for your comment. It really is too soon, and I shouldn't set myself up for disappointment if they aren't better.

It's been hard--back in November, I discovered Pulmozyme was exacerbating my hemotysis. My FEV1 was 75% then. Since then it has dropped to 69%. I don't want it to keep dropping, but there is absolutely no way that I am going to start Pulmozyme again. My big hope is that this Mucolyxir will do for me what Pulmozyme used to.

I think this product sounds very interesting. Can someone tell me their opinion on the difference between fish oil supplements and mucolyxir?

Risa,

I have used fish oil supplements before. I believe they are to help with inflammation. I have never heard that they have had any effect on mucus, and I certainly did not experience that.

The mucolyxir is supposed to help with inflammation, help hydrate the airways, help the cilia work better, and also break down the mucus like Pulmozyme does. I definitely feel a big difference with it. My mucus is very thin and easy to get up. I can also take very big deep breaths and it does not make me cough or feel tight.

Hope that helps.

I think the difference between the two is the dna that is extracted right? I have no idea. Just curious as transplant patients can take fish oil (i do not take it) but was just curious.

I am very happy for you that you are doing well. Keep up the gREAT work.
