My mucolyxir arrived yesterday. I used it every hour until bedtime. I was a bit phlegmy but I had been anyway due to my allergies acting up. I did notice that when I went to bed, I coughed for a little while (productively) before going to sleep. That does not usually happen. Also, my phlegm today is very thin. I am not getting tons up but I don't feel junky at all either. I think it is too soon to say.

Thank you all for trying this and reporting your experiences. We've been looking into this for our son so this is quite helpful. We will wait until we are through our NAET allergy treatments so we can get a good picture for what it is doing for him.

dramamama;

Thank you very much for being such a great source of inspiring information on what may turn out to be a major breakthrough in CF care! (mucolyxir) This is a new one to me.

I have been reading your many posts since you became part of the CF Forum crowd and I must say that your contribution has made a big difference in my life!

I am also a big believer in the major role diet plays in our health!!

Your posts have been consistently thorough and clear and I could also add that they are probably among the most valuable posts I have ever read here or on any other CF site for those looking for guidance or a roll model.

I believe that if all CF patients followed a modified Perricone diet as you have and as you spelled out in the thread on "anti-inflammatory diet" they would experience a profound change in their lives and much un-necessary suffering would be avoided.

I believe that many early deaths and hospitalizations would be avoided if our western medical system made diet, exercise and the all important need to avoid breathing dirty air, the three most important aspects of good CF health care. This of course would necessitate our medical doctors being more fully educated on these subjects. I also believe there is too much emphasis on the use of drugs to solve problems.

Keep up the good work and please keep us informed on your progress with mucolyxir!!

There should be more inspiring people like you in this world!!!

Best wishes!!!

Thanks very much for trying this, and the up date. I've ordered some and am still waiting for it to arrive...think I'll try to get my 27 yr old to test it out, and than maybe the 10 yr old.

I'm also interested in using it with my 8yr old wocf, as apparently it is really good for sinus and ear problems.

Just to give an update on the mucolyxir...I really think this stuff is working. I feel great and I can't believe how thin my phlegm is. My pft's had started to go down since I stopped Pulmozyme, but I can't inhale that anymore because it causes bleeding for me. I think the mucolyxir does the same thing...maybe even better. Maybe I am getting falsely excited, but I do know that I would be extremely upset if they took it away from me. I have pfts on Friday...we'll see if they have changed at all. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
