OMG that stuff sounds gross. I dont have Cf but my little one does.
I have on 3 different occasions had a sinus infection or something and just like the other post said i sounded like a cat with a fur ball and then out came this chunk about the size of one of those little bouncey balls (maybe smaller, I'm exaggerating LOL)
I got scared. I thought it was some sort of tissue. Thats what it looked like to me. It had blood and it stunk and tasted horrible. I too tried brushing the teeth and gargling. I thought it was a tonsil so I kept looking in the back of my throat. LOL
Afterwards though I felt alot better. Like I could breathe better too. It just felt like something was caught in my sinus area until I furr balled it out.

Just thought I would share my gross experience too.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Paula, not to get off track here, but yours actually sounds like a tonsil stone -- did it resemble cauliflower? I used to get them all the time, especially when I had sinus infections. Turned out I also had chronically infected "cryptic" tonsils.

yes kind of. I just had one last winter. It was totally gross. Made me want to vomit just looking at it. I tried to get my husband to look and he wouldn't. LOL A tonsil stone. Never heard of that.
