you may want to mention this to your dr. The last time I was in for IVs the same thing started happening and I thought what many ppl have suggested: the abx are working and the crap is getting out like it's supposed to. Once I learned what I was culturing, I said to my dr, "Gosh, the new bacteria I'm culturing sure does taste worse than anything else I've cultured!"
he then told me what I was culturing shouldn't have a taste and that the taste was probably from anaerobic bacteria beginning to set up shop in my lungs. he added on another IV (Piptazo) and the taste was gone within a day and my sputum looked and felt a little better when coughing.
I'm not saying this is your problem, but if you haven't mentioned the taste to your doc, do so.

I'm not saying this is your problem, but if you haven't mentioned the taste to your doc, do so.
