Multiple Allergy Pills

I am really confused!!

Allergy pills can dry out the lungs and this is bad for CFers.

Wouldn't this be a good thing seeing that CFers have to much mucus in the lungs??

No because you want to be able to freely move what mucous you have. Anti congestion medication doesn't magically get rid of your mucous. It probably treats inflamation somewhat, but overall it dries out your chest, which is bad. Ever be congested and drink alcohol and get "dried up"? It might feel better momentarily, but the stuff will just be dry and sit in there.

Things like sudafed for sinuses on the other hand can be good things.

Amy, WOW! Thanks for your info.

I have a question for you too. My sons both have terrible sinus trouble and allergies. Both are on nasonex and saline spray, but the doctor wanted them on allegra again too. We picked up the bottle last night and it says don't take it with in 2 hours of vitamins, minerals or antacids. The boys take prevacid and ABDEK twice a day and oregano oil, Vit K once. How critical is is to space these things apart? When they're in the hospital, they bring everything at once.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

We are about to undergo home renovations to get rid of allergens. We are replacing rugs with hardwood in the bedrooms and getting anti-microbial carpet for the cellar (playroom). Also, we are putting in central air with the UV light to kill everything. Huge expense!!!!! but whatever works. Any other ideas?
