Hey All,
Ok, so I had my appointment at St. Vincent's yesterday. Where am I? Home or hospital? Home. Yeah!!! BUT......haha a big but.....
To start off I'm seeking all advice here, any opinion is welcome.
Ok, so I'm feelin good. No blood since last week. I'm taking deeper breaths than I've ever been able to. Thin, white-ish sputum. But, I have these horrible swollen glands under my neck. They've been present for several days now. Of course I also have the ever present sinus infection. Which is in the process of being treated. (I had a CAT scan yesterday for it.)
No increased cough. No fever. Again-lungs feel incredible. To be able to breathe deeply without gagging is so awesome-you know.
So I go into the office excited b/c I know she's gonna send me home and say-Miracle! To start she doesn't want to do PFT's-b/c she's worried they may be to hard on my lungs. She doesn't want to break any tissue. I tell her I haven't bled in 4 days, and have been doing breathing exercises that deep anyway. Still no PFTs. Ok. I was dissapointed b/c I was very anxious to see what they were after all my hard work these few months.
In general she was very skeptical -I think- that I was saying I felt so good. Believe me-with all the hard work I've been doing, if I needed to be admitted I would! I don't want to blow my whole summer. So she sent me home with strict rest and don't- overdo- the- chest- PT rules. I don't know, I feel like she didn't believe me. Maybe I'm wrong.
Anyway- I was upset at first about the visit. But after I calmed down I knew she was just being cautious. She has my best interests only. I do trust her judgement.
I guess it's hard to be brought down when you feel good. When you feel good, you want your doctor to be happy for you, you know?
So-here's my question which is open to opinion: Why do you think I have these huge swollen glands? Have you ever had them? What have you done for swollen glands?
What confuses me is the only time I get swollen glands like this is when I have a horrible head cold/sinus thing or the flu. Other than that, my coughing is decreased and sputum is fine. Unless this sinus problem is progressing and getting worse.
I would welcome any suggestions b/c I'm very frustrated right now. Other than this thing, I feel great. And I just want to enjoy these clear lungs right now while I have them.
