Oh wow Jen. I am so happy that everything is well with you!!!!

Sounds like you have been through the ringer..... I don't blame you for the anxiety. I would be freaking out with all those errors as well. It's a scary, scary reality of hospitals these days.

Please keep us posted. I am so glad to hear from you and that you are on your way to being well!

Jenn, at first I was so glad to finally hear from you, and that our prayers were answered. Then I read further, and as one who's job is working on the same kind of surgical floor as yours, I was APPALLED!!! This would never happen with the nurses I work with. Even as a tech, I know that there is a way you are supposed to check if the NG is inserted right, by checking for air in stomach with a stethoscope. Also, if there is no fluid coming out of the tube that is another sign. I shared your story with the nurses I work with, they can't believe what they're hearing! They have never heard of such a thing as a patient fighting an NG tube and that causing vomiting. And to take your call light away--that is a violation of Jayco! That hospital needs to be turned in! First I was horrified, now I'm getting P***ed! And we are always super careful with having hospital personel as patients, I can't believe they treated you, one of their own, like that. I certainly hope that you will take this up with administration! Other than that, I'm glad you are such a survivor, 'cause it scertainly isn't due to good care, that you are still here with us! I hope you will get better care after this--especially respiratory therepy! I miss you!
