Nebulizer Tubing Stuck on Nebulizer/Neb Cup

I am completely serious though if I was reading this I would think I was making it up.

My older Pari Trek came with nebulizer tubing that had blue wings on each end. The machine is now probably 3 years old and I only use it if I'm traveling overnight as I can skip meds that aren't compatible.

I have tried to detach the tubing for almost 2 years with no success. I changed the neb cup because the Pari re-usable that came with it is old and just not in good shape. I wanted to test it since it's been 6 months since I've used it. I tried a disposable neb cup on the tubing and it is also now stuck on to the the neb cup. The bigger issue is that the tubing must have a leak in it and I'm not getting enough pressure to get any medicine so I really do need to change the tubing.

I tried taking the tubing off with pliers, twisting, pulling, having someone else pull while I held the machine. I need to bring this instead of the PulmoAid I use as I can't maneuver the city and a heavy suitcase.

I had the same issue with two Pari Vios machines within a short period of time. If you call up Pari, they will take back your machine and send you a new one. I got my machine within 72 hours.

I had the same thing happen to me with the Pari Trek. I took a hair dryer and let the hot air blow on it for a while, and eventually I got it off.

The second time it happened to me I just let the compressor run for a while and eventually the tubing heated up enough, and then it came right off.

Like you, I didn't think of this until after I struggled with a plyer trying to yank it off. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
