Nebulizers

My nebulizer finally gave out yesterday, so I'm going to get a new one today. I have 2 travel ones (MicroAir Omron & The Pari Trek)...but I was wondering

1. What kind of nebulizers does everyone use?

2. Any reccomendations or advice before I go buy my new one? The one I had was probably 8 years old, so I guess anything will be a step up, but just wondering.

We have a pari proneb plus and a devillbiss pulmoaid. We've noticed that the pulmo-aid takes about 15-20 minutes less time to deliver tobi. The pari is a nice travelling size, not as cumbersome as the pulmo-aid -- but I prefer the pulmo-aid in terms of speed.

I'd have to say the same as the other person! Get a devilbiss Pulmo-aid! Those things last forever too! Mine is 5 years old and going great, runs just like it was new.

I have a PARI proneb ultra that was wonderful at first but its just a year old and sounds like its going to die!

Plus Devilbiss ones(they make the PUlmo-aid and Pulmo-mate) come with a 5 year warranty vs PARIs 3 year one.

I think it's recommended with tobi -- use the pari neb cups and the devillbiss compressor.

That's all we use are the pari reusable neb cups. I carry some disposable nebs in ds's luggage in case we need a back up or something happens to the pari ones we use on a regular basis.

I like Liza only use the PARI resusable neb cups. And yes they work with the Pulmo-Aid(and Pulmo-mate!)

I do take disposable nebs with me when traveling so I can just toss them instead of having to wash them.

Chiron, the makers of TOBI reccomend the PARI LC Plus and Devilbiss Pulmo-aide for use with TOBI

I will say Devilbiss compressors are almost impossible to tear up! My little cousin is 14 and the compressor from when she was a baby (a pulmo-aide by Devilbiss) still runs excellent! And mine is 5 years old, has always been used multiple times daily and still runs perfectly!

If someone wanted one easy to take with them, I would say get the Proneb Ultra by PARI but since you already have 2 portable nebulizers thats not an issue so I will say get a Devilbiss Pulmo-Aide!

We also have a backup Pulmo-aide that we got from DS's cousin, whose daughter had asthma problems as a young child and didn't need it anymore. I believe the tag on it says 1993. It's a work-horse! We purchased the new pulmo-aid as our regular nebulizer after using her old one at the outlaws house one weekend. Tobi took 20-25 minutes with that machine -- our pari takes 35-40 minutes.

I always used my pari pro neb turbo with my tobi. It used to take about 20 minutes. Later it took longer. I just read the Pulmo aid is the only one approved for use of Tobi. I never knew this before.

Was I wrong to have used the Pari w/ the tobi? My doctor never said anything about it.

as far as I know, you can get even the better version of the eFlow in the US, the eFlow rapid!!!

I actually suggest the OPPOSITE of the first few posters...

I had the DeVilbiss Pulmo-Aide and just got the Pari ProNeb Ultra--I very much prefer my new Pari. In my opinion is delivers my TOBI much faster than the DeVilbiss. <i><Keep in mind I got my DeVilbiss in 1998, so maybe that makes the difference, but I find the Pari to be quieter.></i>

As for neb cups, for the TOBI I use the Pari LC Plus, for the saline I'll be using the Pari SideStream.

Just got a new Devillbiss back from the company -- the one we had was making a LOT of noise and was still under warranty, so they sent us a replacement one. I'd forgotten how HUGE it was. But... The pari proneb ultra, while a lot smaller (compact) takes forever and is really noisy.

Tobi took 15 - 20 minutes less time last night and this morning I didn't feel like I was running around like a maniac trying to get DS dressed, fed and ready for school. We were able to take our time and he even had time to paint with his new paint set we picked up last night.

I love my eflow!!!! all meds in 2 minutes and no noise.....it makes everything to vapor..not even mist. I have to use a tobra that is a lower dose than tobi because tobi is absorbed too well with the eflow.
