Need help, question about Kaylee and TOBI

I was given a laminated card to follow:

1. Albuterol (Dilates and relaxes airway passages)

2. Wait 15 min.

3. HTS (Improves hydration, restores liquid layer, thins secretions)

Note: you may begin your airway clearance while you are inhaling hypertonic saline if desired (The Vest)

4. Airway clearance (Flutter, Acapella valve, CPPD, Vest)

5. Pulmozyme (Reduces viscosity of secretions)

6. Inhaled steroids

7. Inhaled antibiotics (antibiotics such as Tobi will land on clean airways.)

Mine is similar to Lauren's, but the Tobi is at the end of mine and hers has the Advair at the end. I can't do any of the above if I haven't used my albuterol 15-20 min. before starting it all, or I just cough so bad I don't get anything inhaled!

Kyle does 28 days on and 28 days off of the tobi. I was never told to do anything beforehand. Interesting though......I will have to ask.

Sorry Terri, OT here....
That's interesting! I was told to do mine the way Lauren had listed, but I experimented around with mine, and I do mine exactly the same way you do yours, and have had great results with my pfts. Huh. *scratches head*

I suppose the slight differences we experience in terms of how we feel could be attributed to whether a person struggles more with small airways or larger ones.
