Neil-Med sinus rinse question

I put a couple of ounces of rubbing alcohol in my NeilMed Bottle after every use (which is twice a day for me). I swish it around and squirt it through the straw so every part of it gets cleaned. I dont use tap water/soap because the bubbles in the soap were just very sudsy and hard to get out of the bottle. With the alcohol, the bottle is dry by the next time I use it (once in the AM and once before bed).

I also noticed on the bottle that it should be changed every 90 days. I had one that I used for probably 6 months, thinking it was like the nebs, but the new bottle I just got said three months.

I run my daughters bottles through the dishwasher after each use and then hang them on a bottle drying rack until they are completely dry. I know this may seem a little anal/paranoid (I admit that am basically an anal/paranoid mommy!) but I don't like to microwave the bottle bc the bottle is made with #4 plastic which is the bad kind of plastic. I micro the water in a glass measuring cup then pour the heated water in the rinse bottle.

I also date her bottles w a sharpie but I keep them longer than 3 months because we have 6 bottles in the rotation (she rinses twice a day) so we don't use them all everyday.

HTH!
