Neti pot noob

Well after going to 2 more stores today I was able to get a 'SinuCleanse' neti pot.

I did what the instructions said, I even watched a youtube video. The water went fine in my right nostril, came out left etc. But then it wouldn't go in my left at all. I assume it's just too stuffed and making a one-way valve from right to left or something. Has anyone else had this happen? Will it work itself out if I keep rinsing every day? I've never had polpys or anything like that, I got this thing mainly because you guys so strongly recommended it, and happened to come down with a head cold these last few days.

Hi Yes I have had the same thing happen to me. I just keep trying. Perhaps the secretions are to thick to allow for clearence, especially if you have come down with a cold. The secretions are most difficult at these times. I also use Zicam cold remedy, sinus spray or the lozengers, as soon as I know I have a cold. It works to cut down on the sinus and other cold symptoms. It works really well for me. I always alchohol the tip of the Zicam or Neti pot or wash with warm soapy water, whenever I use it too. Especially if I have a cold.
