Neutrophils and Eosinophils Level?

I remember reading a post on here with someone having the DR check their leves of Neutrophils and Eosinophils.

I looked up my bloodwork back in 2004 - and here were my levels of these 2:

Neutrolphils 8.71 THOU/uL
Eosinophils 0.12 THOUGH/uL

I also have Monocytes 0.85 THOU/uL

Both the Neutrophils and the Monocytes have a star by them-what does this mean??

great website with short easy to understand of what each one is. That was my post here on my blog (see sig) for starting NAC.

in a nutshell

monocytes=germ eaters and if they are too low you are at risk for infection

eosinophils=producers of histamine which has an anti-inflammatory effect. If your # is high it means you have alot allergies (most likely).

neutrophils=higher when you have an infection but too low can put you at risk for an infection

It is hard to put your numbers in persective unless you remmeber why the bloodwork was taken, ie sick visit, baseline numbers, post IV's etc. THe ranges are listed for each section if you would like to look it up though.
