So, I got a new culture two weeks ago and finally got my results back today. I still have PA and a staph (probably MRSA, but it was so slow growing that they couldn't tell). Those two bugs I always have, but now I have 3 new bacteria. Two kinds of Chryseobacterium and Mesophilic bacteria.
Anyway, my doctor's response was that we are just going to wait and see what happens, since I'm not "sick," even though I've been coughing more and increased sputum for the last 5 weeks. What does he want to do wait until I'm hospitalized? I'm trying to prevent that!!
Also, when I mentioned starting AZLI for my PA, which we had talked about previously, he said that if we did that I might just replace my PA with the other bacteria. What!? Why not just treat everything and keep me from sliding backwards? This really concerns me. Also, any help with understanding my new bacterium would be appreciated. Thanks!
