Hi,

Welcome.. I was diagnoised late in life as well.. Age 29... The best thing to do is keep doing what you are doing, just adding whatever treatments the doctors want to give you.

There is not any need to change anything as far as what I can tell.... but that is up to your doctors....I was diagnoised right before I started nursing school.. I just went ahead with my plan...I did finish school with some health challenges.. but like everyone said.. nothing is going to change in your body just because you have a name with the disease now...

Glad you found this site.. Post often and ask as many questions as you want..

I'm glad you have some answers.
I'm fifty and will be having a nasal differential potential soon to
rule in or out a diagnosis of CF. My sweat test was negative. So
was the sweat test my 12 year old son had. However his nasal
differential was positive for CF as was a different kind of sweat
test. He had his first clinic appt this week and will be
taking different medications instead of those just for asthma.

If we made it this long, 50 and 59, we are thankfully in the mild
to moderate symptom group. Best of luck to you
Welcome to the site. I myself hate big crowds especially when indoors and try to avoid them because of exactly what you mentioned. You are in a big crowd and next thing you know you are sick. I try to scope out who is coughing and sneezing and stay as far away as i can. Handwashing and handsanitizer when you cant wash, is a basic must for me. You've lived this long with cf untreated, so once you get into a routine with treatments you should start to feel a bit better. Try making sure you get enough sleep, it really makes a difference in how you feel and how your body copes with any type of stress your body goes thru, whether it be emotional or physical. You have definitely come to the right place for answers. There is a plethura of knowledge on this site.
