My understanding is that the name "cystic fibrosis" comes from what the pancreas looked like when they did autopsies: so scarred up that there was nothing left but "cystic fibroids"...or something like that.

I wish that they would have found this earlier. Maybe I wouldn't have had to have the lung and liver transplants! My organs were mostly severely scarred and that's most of what caused the transplants.
