So, for the tenth time, the wife asked me if anyone on the forum had brought up the subject regarding the flu that's happening in the U.S. Supposedly imported from China (not something we all want), it's supposedly more dangerous than the flu that has been in the U.S. the past flu seasons.
I hadn't seen anything on internet, OR local television programs, so I really don't know what she's referring to.
Obviously, any of us CF patients who happen to catch the flu may become seriously sick, or not survive it..supposedly its so bad that muscles hurt too much to even breathe. And, as the wife mentioned in one of her ten times of bringing the subject up, if there had become an epidemic, a shortage of medicine would occur, which would decrease the survival rate.
So, if anyone has any idea about this, your insight would be greatly appreciated.

Can't say I have heard anything about it. But I don't wantch the news anymore because there is never anything happy on there and there is only so much murder and robberies a girl can take.

I'm not leaving my house ever agian! I don't want that flu ahh! Maybe that would explain why everyone is constantly sick these days? Hopefully the flu shot will help keep that nasty flu away from us. I'll have to try to remember this when I go to clinic next week. Maybe they have heard something!

nope, nothing going on in the 2nd biggest city in the country.

everyone always talks about epidemic. it will happen one day i'm sure. but it doesn't seem as though this is it......

As far as I know, the origin of the flu is china every year and from there it is wandering around the whole world. As the virus changes a little bit every year, they do always create a new vaccine each year; especially old people and people with weak immune systems or diseases like cf should be vaccinated every year.

If you are vaccinated, you can still catch a normal cold, because those are caused by differerent and less dangerous viruses.
If getting in contact with the flu, you can still get "a little" sick, but as your immune system already knows this virus from the vaccine, it will beat it down fast<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">.

All over the world thousands of people are dying each year because of the flu!

If you are vaccinated, you can still catch a normal cold, because those are caused by differerent and less dangerous viruses.
If getting in contact with the flu, you can still get "a little" sick, but as your immune system already knows this virus from the vaccine, it will beat it down fast<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">.
