Ok, I'm not sure if any of this will make sense, but here goes. Off and on my son has blue fingernails. His hands and feet are always cold. But when his nails are not blue, his nails remain completely white. I am not even able to do the capillary refill test on him(where you push down on one of your fingernails until they turn white, let go and see how fast they return to the pinkish color.). There is no pink.
On Sunday when he came down for breakfast, his feet were completely blue up to close to his ankles. I was very surprised and called my daughter in and said look at his feet. She seen it too. After a few minutes, they became red and then returned to their normal color. They did not bother him during this time.
I did call his ped who said that as ling as he is not short of breath keep a journal to bring to his appointment in a few weeks.
Another incident recently he came down from a shower and his knees were completely purple and the rest of his legs were fine. This lasted about an hour.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. The white nail thing has me pretty baffled. Thanks guys, you are always helpful! Janelle
