Newborn +, Sweat Test -

Hello Everyone

I have a friend who had her 3rd child. ( First 2 No CF) The baby's newborn screening came back positive, and the sweat test came back negative.

Does/Could the child have CF?

They tested for the first 30 Common Genes, and that was negative as well. The baby has chronic ear infections, and I was wondering if that could have anything to do with the baby possibly having CF.

I have CFrD, but I am unsure of the correct answer to give her, except, take a blood test for confirmation.

Any help would be appericated.

it is possible to have cf and come out negative on sweat test, some mutations are just like that.... however false positives are possible in newborn screening as well. did they do the ambry test?
