I have a question about having a newborn around a child with cf that has tested positive for pseudomonas, is the newborn in any danger because of this or would you keep them apart because of the pseudomonas ?

Unless the newborn has CF or some other illness which compromises the immune system I wouldnt worry. Pseudomonas is everywhere including dirt. It only becomes a problem when people like CFers are prone to it. Healthy people dont have to worry.

Little known fact: pseudomonas is a germ commonly found on toilet seats. I read that in a medical general the other day. That being said - its not a a problem for healthy people as the mucus in their lungs is very thin/nil. They can cough it out.

People or chidren with CF may carry all sorts of bugs, but none of these bugs that they carry can be transmitted to a person without cf. So your baby is not at any risk.
I would be more concerned about the baby passing any bugs on to your child with cf.
