I am sorry to hear this. It can be frustrated when you are just drained. I also am not pleased to hear that your CF clinic isnt taking it more seriously.

Quite honestly it could be anything so lets go over a few things shall we? Even tho you take adek, have you had your vitamins levels checked to make sure the adek is enough. Do you take Iron, maybe you are anemic? Have you had cultures done to assure you arent growing bacteria that could be draining you? Have you been tested for diabetes? This can be a big thing.

Sometimes just change in diet & increase in exercise can give the umpf you need especially with the pains etc. You say that you are depressed. Are you on meds for it? I dont take meds for depression, but I would think there can be side affects that be aggrivating things. Your slightly being overweight might add to things especially if you are not keeping yourself active.

I know there are so many "ifs", but these are things that your clinic should be ruling out before assuming anything.

Sadly there are times that we just feel like crap, but you are right to worry because you are so young to feel so lousy.

I hope I gave you some ideas to at least address with them. Remember that YOU are the one in your body & if something isnt right you need to push them to get answers for you!

Hmmm, you said your face hurts- have you had your sinuses catscanned? Or at the very least looked at by an ENT? Your symptoms sound a lot like mine when I went for years without seeing an ENT who was familiar with cf sinuses, and had a chronic sinus infection for years (I only saw one, and the first thing that he wanted to do was surgery, and was a bit of a bully about it when I cancelled it after talking to my cf nurses, so that turned me off to ENTs for a while).

My clinic didn't really understand the extent of how badly my sinuses affected me, either...(among other things...). I now have a great ENT (with a catscan in his office! It's great!), take singulair and an antihistamine, have a couple of nose sprays (one is just saline) and am feeling much better.

I get tired, achey, my face hurts, my joints hurt, I get a bit depressed (can't think, can't function, feel like 100 year old crap ). And I don't always have a gunky nose when I get a sinus infection either- the bad ones just stay way up in my sinuses, blocking stuff off way up in there, fogging my brain and making my face hurt. It's worth a shot to get it looked at, anyways- somewhere to start, if you need one. (I am also mostly panceratic sufficent, and a bit overweight ).

I don't know anything about antidepressants, so I can help you there-sorry!

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi there, thanks for your replies, they have given me some good ideas and things to think about, well i am on prozamel(sp?) a derivative of prozac for my depression, and ive been on it four years now,i havent been tested for diabetes since january, its a urine test isnt it? i am pretty much inactive and i am trying to go on my treadmill every day,i also have bronchiectasis but i dont think its that.I had my vitamin levels last checked in jaunuary and D was a bit low,but that was most likely because of winter and everything else was fine,im not growing anything aside from the usual staph.Im not very good at taking my tabs or doing my physio, mostly because i see no improvement in how i feel even if i take them every day for weeks,i think i should probably sit down and really talk to my cf team, but i was dx at 14,and because they always tell me im so healthy and lucky,i dont feel comfortable doing so,i have had bad sinus probs too,it was one of the reasons i got a dx,ive had polyps and i have had a few ops to fix a deviated septum and i get sinusitis, but my ent said my nose is clear inside and that i should just rinse it out with salt water, even tho my face aches most days,i guess i dont know am i being a hypochondriac or is there something actually wrong, sorry for the long reply hope you are keeping well
