Is anyone out there from Northwest Georgia or Southeast Tennessee? I am just trying to find someone who is close to me, and someone who uses TC Thompson's Children's hospital for treatment would be great!
Kathie
Hi,
This is Lynsey, Chuck's wife. I am just going to elaborate on what my husband posted earlier. We see Dr. Riff and Dr. Rogers at a registered CF clinic located at Childrens Hospital in Knoxville, TN. The clinic here is in the top ten percent of CF clinics when it comes to longevity of life of people w/CF. The doctors are very aggressive when it comes to treatment, which we like. Hope this information helps.

My daughters used to see Dr. Rogers....I miss him terribly. I adore the man. My daughter was sooooo sick by the time she was finally diagnosed and he was absolutely wonderful to us. Her health improved so dramatically it was unreal. I don't know Dr. Riff... is he new there? But then again, it's been about 6 years since we lived in the area so I guess it has been a while... Part of me still wants to move back to that are just because of Dr. Rogers. I didn't know that about the clinic being in the top 10% of life expectancy...that's nice to know incase I ever do get the opportunity to move back.
Lynsey, how do you find out what clinics are in the top ten percent of CF clinics when it comes to longevity of life for people with CF? I would love to have that information.
Thanks.
My husband is in the medical field, he sells medical equipment. I think he found out our clinic was in the top ten percent from an adult pulmonologist Doctor in his territory. I will ask him or he may reply to this post.

Kathie, We also go to Children's in Knoxville with Dr. Riff and Rogers. My daughter is 13 now dxed at 6 months. Although we live in Sweetwater (midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga) we started taking my daughter to Atlanta to Emory. Children's did not have a CF specialist when she was dxed. Dr. Rogers came about 9 or 10 years ago (I think) and the care has improved ever since. Especially, with the addition of Dr. Riff. When Sarah was 3 or 4 we started talking with Dr. Rogers about coming back to Children's. I thank God for Dr. Rogers and Dr. Riff.

Chattanooga now has Dr. Ledbetter who has a sattellite (sp?) center in his office for cf. I love him to death. He diagnosed my daughter when she was in foster care and was willing to help in anyway he could if i needed it to get Samantha back.
