Nose bleeds

I agree with Faust.

I used to get nose bleeds ALL THE TIME from coughing when I was younger (up to age 10/11 maybe a little older). I finally started taking ADEK vitamins and they stopped. It took years for me to stop checking my nose after a coughing spell though haha!!! And I still do it sometimes now <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Remember all those bleeds I had all the time? It was a real bitch, and caused me a ton of probs. I always took 1 or 2 vitamin K's sporadically, but I said screw this. Now i'm taking 5 125mcg capsules per day after my first meal, and all bleeds have stopped for two weeks. I was having atleast one per week, usually a form of one every 3 days. I did more research into vitamin K last night just to make sure I wasn't possibly risking a massive clot, and I found out just how bad nearly all CF patients were deficient of vitamin K. It leads to more problems besides bleeding, it massively helps with bone issues as well, and protein regulation. It's an amazing little vitamin, that has a very wide gap of safety. I'm going to keep taking what i'm on now. I know it's not just the vitamin K, it's a combination of things I have been doing recently, but I havent felt this good in a very long time.

I've had this problem, too, but it would happen sometimes when I didn't even cough. Definitely if I coughed. Then it wouldn't stop bleeding, sometimes for 40-60min.

My drs. changed some of my meds so I wasn't on the super-drying ones. My ENT also recommended using Bactroban Ointment to wipe inside my nostrils. There's a Bactroban Cream, but the Ointment is a much better sealant. I know if it gets really bad they can cauterize, but I'd try the vitamins, check the drying meds and the Bactroban first.

Thank you for everyone's reply. He is on so many sinus regimens. Sinus rinses, nasal gels.
I talked to Cory about the vitamin K and I think he is going to try that one.
