My OCD isn't too bad, I just have little tics. Like holding a pen so the label and lid line up perfectly, or saving a video game every 30 seconds. The biggest problem I have is with eating. I hate eating, always have. I'm a very very picky eater, and I find it almost impossible to eat something I dislike.
Milk was really bad for me, If I drink milk straight, I have to smell it first, and it ALWAYS smells rotten to me, when it is not (I had my family smell-test it). But the last few months I've been drinking a weight gain shake, 1300 calories twice a day, which is 2 cups of homo milk, 1 tbsp omega fatty acids (am I the only one that thinks "omega fatty asses" when I read that?), and 4 scoops (250g) of mammoth 2600 weight gain mix.
I tend to get sick of foods quickly, and stick to foods that I can "tolerate" and eat only those. For years it was hamsteaks, and that was almost literally all I ate (I was practically skin and bones).
I'm almost 18, and I want to start bulking up, but it's hard to accept the scope of how much I have to eat in order to gain the muscle mass while having CF. I know I need 5-6k calories a day, and I can't drink the weight gain shake 4 times a day (I wish!). So what are some (free, my family is poor enough, no need to see extra doctors) mental techniques that I can do to eat food I hate? I even OCD out on swallowing sometimes, like just swallowing spit I try to swallow and my mind "stops" me from doing it, really pisses me off. Anyways, I'm really starting to ramble on.
I think I know the answer already: suck it up buttercup. But that's just really really hard to do with OCD (I'm starting to conquer my fear of social encounters, and am getting a job interview in a couple days). Thanks.
