Odd question

Thanks for the input! I'm glad I'm not alone... though not glad any of us run fevers! LOL.... they're quite uncomfortable.

I always thought if you had a fever (this is usually the first thing they ask when going in for a cleanout), its a BAD thing (not bad to my body cause i know it means i'm fighting something off, but just a bad sign), so its interesting to know that with all my extra effort to get this gunk out of my lungs, a fever is a "welcome" thing.

Am interested to see if any other CFers experience these low-grade fevers with huffing and coughing. It almost like I can literally bring on a fever once I start really focusing on coughing super hard when all day (without making myself cough) I've been fine. Peculiar!

Thanks,

I know that during exercise your temperature rises. But I didn't know why. So I looked it up.
More then 70% of the energy that powers your muscles is lost as heat, causing your body temperature to rise during exercise.

That must be some vigorous coughing.

hey there!

I know 100% what you're talking about. I've been going through the same thing with low grade fevers and coughing, especially lately. Like you, the only thing that helps is pain killers and rest with out much junk being brought up and out of my lungs. I have no idea why it happens and I haven't inquired about it at the doc's office. We're just lucky, I guess.

One other thing to throw out there, dehydration can cause fevers also. With all the huffing coughing ( very comparible to exercise and just as tiring) can leave you dehydrated. I never had fevers in the past till i got cepacia. Once i got cepacia i get them a LOT for totally unknown reasons.
