I saw another thread where someone was less than satisfied with a previous doctor that didn't take the appropriate steps in her treatment and that got me to thinking--is there a governement watch-dog type agency that oversees doctors/hospitals, etc?
I have one doctor that I should probably get rid of (not my CF doctor), anyway, he doesn't always wash his hands between patients, I suspect that he doesn't change the papers on the 'table' between all patients and I'm sure there are other infractions, but I don't know if there is any place to turn in these types of situations. I've asked him to wash his hands & I sit in a chair, not on the table, so possibly my risks are somewhat minimalized, but what about the other guy that's not as paranoid about these things as I am?
He is a very knowledgeable doctor & actually listens to me and my suggestions, which seems to be becoming more of a lost art these days, so that's why I keep him around.
Would the health department be the place to turn??
