Oddly, GOOD news for me :)

Oddly enough, after getting the news of my SS problem on Saturday, and changing my working life Monday...

I got the news from my long term fiance that her genetic screening test (that took FOREVER to get back) finally came back, and she is NEGATIVE for any CF carrier genes!

She is 37, and I'm 36 (soon to be 37), and the clock is way past ticking for us. So we are seriously gonna give it our best shot to create a little Faust or Faustina (our hockey jersey names heh). I know it will drive me insane, and maybe even break me down more than a few times, but it's basically the only reason we are here. I would prefer a boy, but I will of course dote on and love a little girl just as much.

ONE question for Julie: Please PM me any of the resources you have program wise that may assist us with the whole procedure, especially $$ wise if possible.

Also, I wanted to pass on something that has been going on for maybe 2 months now. I am hemoptysis free, and I feel amazing! I had been on 3 grams of turmeric daily and was feeling better, and then I also started back on the H2 Orega mycellized oregano oil 5 drops per day in the morning into my hyper tonic saline, then I started taking 1 gram of cinnamon bark extract daily, with (and I forget the dosage at this time) a good dose of garlic extract...And i'm also doing oregano oil under the tongue 5 drops once per day.

My sinuses still run (I've come to the conclusion that until I have the surgery, even with everything I'm doing and rinses, my sinuses are FUBARD). I must say I feel amazing. After I got my bleeds somewhat in check, I would still have streaks and pink mucous in the morning. Now, something is surely really working against my CF/symptoms. My mucous is way down, and after 1 or 2 cough ups with my vest, it's basically clear/white. During the day, I basically can't get anything up, and I'm crystal clear for the most part.

I don't know if it's a combination of what I'm taking and they are working synergistic ally or what, but before if I ran or had burst exertion I was pretty much guaranteed a lung bleed. I have been playing paintball again seriously over the last few weeks, starting out mellow and slow. Well this last weekend I was flat out sprinting around the field, leaping over downed trees like an action star, sliding, etc etc...AND NOT ONE BLEED! Not even a streak!

To be frank, I was amazed. I also did the hold your breath test. I use that test when i am sick and when I am feeling at my best. There is always a huge difference between the two time wise. I have done it a few times at work, and my times are MUCH longer now.

I have been increasing my level of soy intake via soy milk, and soy meat recently...And I know one of my mutations G551D were shown to be "fixed" by a substance in soy called Genistein. So maybe that is helping also. I just thought I would pass on the good news, and maybe whatever i'm doing could help someone else.

ALSO...Remember, no matter how bad things appear to be, good things can and do still happen to you! I'm not the suicidal type, but when I got the letter sat night, I had a few beers in me and everyone was concerned for me. I had my 9mm in my glove box and decided to drive to the store...And for one fleeting moment, I thought about plugging myself in the dome. Then I came to and cussed myself out for being such a wimpy selfish turd. I'm glad I'm still here, and I'm ashamed my brain even thought of such a thing over such a stupid issue. There is a blessing in everything. Don't forget it! So I lose some income and work purpose...So what...I feel amazing now, my womans genes came back CF free, I have a ton more time to put into going with a large LE agency, and I'll have all the time in the world to help raise a wonderful child. When you start to feel down and freshly kicked, just think about ALL that you have going for you in your life!

I'm so glad that things are working out for you and the bleeding has stopped.

What is the breath test you were talking about?

When i'm feeling very clear/good, I just take a deep breath and hold it and time it, until I have to breathe. If you lungs are covered in goo, you won't be able to hold it nearly as long as when you are clear obviously for the most part. It helps me gauge my overall lung state.
