Governor Pawlenty has been cutting/slashing the state's transportation budget -- Matt Lauer was just interviewing him and so wished he'd asked him about that -- did keep asking him about the report two years ago indicating the bridge was in need of repair at some point and he kept doing a little sidestep.
I guess the reasoning being continuing with the Twins games was because there were 20,000 people at the game and they didn't want to put all those cars back out on the roads at the same time rescue efforts were occuring.
What a horrible, horrible tragedy. Still 20 people missing, several cars submerged.
