I had what I would suppose you would call a review.

Because I worked part time when I applied they contacted my former employers wanting to know what I made by month & then sent me a letter that said that based on financial terms I will continue to receive SSDI but that the state would most likely have me visit a doctor to verify my medical standing. That never happened...

The only way I would assume they could take SSDI away is if you received a transplant and did wonderfully or if you make too much money.

I suppose if you were right on the cusp of their medical requirements when you applied & then improved quite a bit they may try to remove you from SSDI. If that happened to me I would hire an atty & nip that in the bud (or butt-lol) right away, it shouldn't be too hard, given the cold, hard facts about CF.

I was initially reviewed at 3 years then 5 years & havent been reviewed since.</end quote></div>

My review was purely paperwork. I didnt have to go to another SS doctor, but my doctor did have to confirm certain things in the paperwork.

I read a few weeks ago on the SSDI and SSI/ Disability website .. that if there is reason to believe that your status will improve or your condition will improve that they will review your case roughly once every 2-3 years. If there is a feeling that there is minimal chance for improvement the review period goes from something like 5-7 years.

I have been reviewed every 2-3 years with the last time being a month after my transplant last year. I don't know how others on the site were considered "qualified" for disability but I know my qualification was determined in large part by my PFTs so I am imagining that the next time that they review me that I will be taken off of disability.

Lindsey

That is all I know from my experience and what I just read on the website literally a few weeks ago when I had to look something up for school.
