About 8 years ago, my daughter was engaged to an Englishman. He was going to move here, transfer his job with the oil company he worked for, but even with a good job and being engaged to an American the red tape was horrendous. Her moving there had different challenges but just as frustrating. After realizing the crap they had to go through for either one of them, they parted ways. There were other problems too but this was the major obstacle for their final breakup.

I would be very concerned for you about your health situation and how you would get decent insurance coverage. That should be your first priority in considering a big move.

About 8 years ago, my daughter was engaged to an Englishman. He was going to move here, transfer his job with the oil company he worked for, but even with a good job and being engaged to an American the red tape was horrendous.
